Keitha-Gail Martin-Kerr visits Jamaica as part of teacher exchange program
Keitha-Gail Martin-Kerr, Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, recently hosted four teachers from Global Arts Plus, Saint Paul School District, as part of the Jamaican Exchange in Teaching (JET) Program. The week-long immersion in the Jamaican education system took place in February.
This marks Martin-Kerr's third year bringing teachers from Minnesota to Jamaica, and she plans to continue the initiative next year by partnering with Global Academy, a charter school in New Brighton.
The JET program aims to establish a sustainable partnership with the Ministry of Education in Jamaica. For more information about this organization and opportunities, please visit https://jamaicanexchangeteaching.org/ or email Keitha-Gail, kmartink@umn.edu.
