On Friday, April 3, the C&I Graduate Student Association (CIGSA) hosted its Emerging Scholars Conference (ESC), titled 2025 and Beyond: Envisioning the Future of Education. The conference featured 39 C&I graduate students and faculty presenters who shared 30 academic works in various formats. These included paper presentations, a symposium, work-in-progress sessions for sharing project updates and receiving feedback and a poster presentation. The keynote address, titled “Lactation as Disruption: Using Personal Experiences to Motivate Structural Change,” was delivered by Dr. Elise Toedt. Her talk sparked engaging discussions, helping participants reflect on their personal interests and how to develop them into research topics. The event attracted 60 attendees, including C&I undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff. The CIGSA board extends its thanks to all the presenters, discussants and C&I staff who contributed to the success of this event.
