Annette Beauchamp is an assistant professor in literacy education in the department of curriculum and instruction at the University of Minnesota. She is a humanities-based scholar who focuses on how cultural productions can increase understanding of social, educational, and environmental phenomena across the globe. In her work on internationalizing teaching and learning in the academy, she draws from ethnic and transnational studies. Prior to joining the faculty at the UMN, she served as a bilingual teacher, migrant educator, and instructor of writing and literature. Dr. Beauchamp earned her Ph.D. in the joint program in English and Education at the University of Michigan from where she also holds graduate certificates in environmental justice, Latino studies, and world performance studies. She’s especially committed to working with students across programs and disciplines with interests in narrative-based research, specifically autobiographical and creative research approaches.
